Project Number: 2022-2-AT01-KA220-YOU-000096509

Funding: Erasmus+

Duration: January 2023 - December 2024

Partnership: Verein Auxilium (Austria), Associação BioLiving (Portugal), Meath Partnership (Ireland), CO&SO (Italy), S.E.A.L Cyprus (Cyprus), Mobilizing Expertise (Sweden)

The Project

Green Meme Effect was a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme and was BioLiving's eighth European project. Coordinated by Verein Auxilium, an Austrian non-profit association, it has as partners Associação BioLiving, from Portugal; Meath Partnership, from Ireland; CO&SO, from Italy; S.E.A.L Cyprus, from Cyprus; and Mobilising Expertise, from Sweden.

Given the pressure humans put on natural resources and its environmental and social consequences, there is an urgent need to encourage truly ecological lifestyles, starting with behaviours that become habits over time.

Teenagers and young adults are at a stage in their lives when they are open to adopting behaviours and making choices that define their professional future, as well as their social and civic life. As well as being old enough to understand the importance of contributing to the fight against climate change, they are able to actively participate and take the initiative, as can be seen in movements such as Fridays for Future.

However, there are still many young people who are not engaged and do not feel included in the environmental cause, so we need to adopt an approach that captivates them, especially marginalised young people, and empowers them to participate in sustainable initiatives that benefit their local community.

The project Green Meme Effect aimed to develop materials that capture young people's attention through micro-interventions in their physical and digital social space and direct them to sources of information and opportunities in order to improve their environmental skills and competences and promote sustainable habits.

In this way, they can become real agents of change and thus achieve a ‘green meme effect’ in the long term.

Green inspiration from all over Europe!

The NGEurope Observatory is an online platform integrated into the project's website that allows us to share success stories from the five partner countries. These NGOs range from more local associations to those working at a national level and which we consider to be examples of success due to their mode of action, management or impact on the communities in which they operate.

This platform contains basic information on the various NGOs: areas of activity, projects developed and underway, funding mechanisms, partnerships, etc.

We want this dissemination platform to be a bridge of contact between NGOs and potential volunteers or even potential partners. Explore and be inspired!

Available outputs

On the project's website you will find various products and resources that you can consult and download for free:
