The Project

Digital Green Skills for Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation Strategies was a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme and was BioLiving's fourth European project. Coordinated by Build Green Group, an NGO from Albania, its partners were Associação BioLiving, from Portugal; Asociatia Tinerilor cu Initiativa Civica, from Romania; Association for Valuable Opportunities, from Bosnia; the Elpidoxori association from Greece; the Europski Klaster Alpe Adria Pannonia association from Serbia; the Joqeveritare Thy Udruzenje organisation from Kosovo; and the Zdruzhenie za Zashtita i Unapreduvanje na Zhivotnata Sredina Eko-Logik Skopje association from North Macedonia.

The consequences of climate change are a serious concern for the well-being of current and future generations and it is urgent that all of us, individually and collectively, realise our environmental responsibilities and how we can adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change. It is therefore important to develop projects that encourage young people to become actively involved in environmental issues in their communities and this project aims to do just that: promote a greener economy by training young people in digitalisation and green entrepreneurship, encouraging them to be more participatory in environmental issues and to create more environmentally responsible jobs.

As part of this project, each partner created a digital map of the region where they work, which can be used to explore the most visible indicators of the effects of climate change in that region, hot-spots of biodiversity, examples of ecologically sustainable businesses, local NGOs and opportunities to create green jobs/projects in the region. There were also three cultural exchanges where young people from the various partner countries could get together, discuss and share ideas and experiences, talk about the work carried out as part of this project and develop new digital skills that could be very useful to them in the future. At the end of the project, an international conference was also held in Tirana, where partner organisations and local stakeholders came together to present the main results of the project and discuss its potential for application in climate change mitigation.

On the project's website you'll find the various resources that have been developed, which you can consult and download for free.
