We are recruiting: Field operational assistant

We are recruiting a full-time field assistant with experience in maintaining green spaces, agriculture, forestry and infrastructures. If you enjoy working outdoors and have the necessary experience, submit your application by 20 October.

Admission profile/requirements
The candidate must have the following profile:

  • Proven experience in carrying out the tasks described below;
  • Previous training in the use of motorised machinery (chainsaws, brushcutters, etc.) and in the application of phytopharmaceuticals is an advantage;
  • Solid knowledge of green area management and maintenance;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills, maturity, proactivity and dynamism;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to lead, and to solve problems;
  • Personal interest in nature and wildlife conservation;
  • High degree of accuracy and sense of responsibility;
  • Driving licence;
  • Flexible working hours.

Responsibilities
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant professional experience in the following tasks:

  • Regular maintenance of green agricultural and forestry areas, using agricultural and forestry motorised machinery such as chainsaws, brushcutters, saws, implements, etc;
  • Support for sustainable forest management, including planting, control of invasive alien species, pruning and thinning, implementation and maintenance of visitor trails, among others;
  • Maintenance and upkeep of existing infrastructures, ensuring their proper functioning, upkeep and safety;
  • General support for the activities and projects to be carried out, collaborating with other team members to promote ecological conservation and sustainability in all operations, including welcoming and instructing groups of volunteers and organising actions for and with the public.
